AFIT Welcomes Dr. Michelle Allmendinger, President of Delta College 

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Michelle Allmendinger, President of Delta College in University Center, Michigan. 

Delta College first became a member of AFIT (formerly CQIN) in 2005, and we are thrilled to continue this long-standing partnership as Michelle begins her tenure as president.  

Michelle brings more than 20 years of higher education leadership experience and a strong commitment to student success, access, and creating opportunities for diverse student populations. 

Most recently, Michelle served as Vice President of Student Affairs at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. As a first-generation college student, Michelle has made student success a central focus of her career. She has led initiatives focused on improving student retention and completion while expanding opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.  

In announcing her appointment, Delta College’s Board of Trustees highlighted Michelle's inclusive, collaborative approach and vision for innovation. As she begins her presidency, she is focused on building strong relationships across the college and community while advancing Delta’s mission of empowering its diverse and inclusive community to achieve personal, professional, and academic goals.
