AI Governance in Practice: Decision Rights That Work
Join Us Virtually
Event Details
During this interactive, one-hour virtual session, national AI expert Dr. Robert Clougherty will lead us as we explore turning governance from a document into an operating practice.
This session will explore what it takes to design AI governance that protects the organization while still enabling experimentation and growth. We’ll discuss AI principles, risk-tiering of use cases with approval paths, roles and responsibilities across IT/data governance/academic governance/HR/legal, and the importance of aligning “AI in the classroom” with “AI in operations” so your institution isn’t sending contradictory messages.
We’ll also talk about change management and metrics as governance tools—how you know governance is working. This session is designed to send you into 2027 with usable governance language and structures—not just policy aspirations.
We’ll explore questions such as:
- How do we design and sustain AI governance that protects the organization while still allowing experimentation and growth?
- What decision-rights model works in a shared-governance campus without becoming a bottleneck?
- What metrics (usage, incidents, cost, outcomes) would you track to keep governance grounded in reality?
We hope you’ll join us for the close of the 2026 CoP and help shape what comes next.
