AFIT Welcomes Dr. Robert Clougherty as AI Community of Practice Lead

AFIT is pleased to announce that Dr. Robert Clougherty will lead the AFIT AI Community of Practice, beginning in January 2026. 

Bob brings more than 35 years of higher education leadership experience, including service as a faculty member, dean, provost, and chief information officer. He is widely recognized for his pragmatic, institution-wide approach to AI strategy, governance, and digital transformation, helping colleges and universities move beyond experimentation toward coordinated, responsible adoption. 

Under Bob’s leadership, the AI Community of Practice will continue to support AFIT members in building sustainable, technology-enabled capacity—grounded in strategy, governance, and institutional culture.
