AFIT welcomes Dr. Deborah Casey, President of Wor-Wic Community College

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Deborah Casey, President of Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Maryland, to our collaborative community of innovators.  

Deborah became Wor-Wic's third president in the college's 51-year history in 2023, a milestone that speaks to the institution's culture of leadership continuity and long-term institutional stewardship. 

She is now guiding the college through a period of meaningful organizational transformation, working to honor that legacy while building the capacity to adapt more quickly to changing student needs, employer expectations, and labor market realities across Maryland's Lower Eastern Shore.  

As a member of the Greater Salisbury Committee of Wicomico County, Deborah is helping to shape a vision for the region's future workforce, and she sees this as a pivotal moment for community colleges to think differently, act boldly, and lead transformational change.  

She joined AFIT’s community of visionary CEOs to expand her team’s exposure to innovative practices nationwide and learn directly from leaders reimagining how colleges can become more agile, responsive, and future-ready.   

Dr. Karie Solembrino will serve as the Wor-Wic Community College team's AFIT Rep.
