AFIT welcomes Dr. Reetika Dhawan, President of Arizona Western College

Reetika DhawanWe are delighted to welcome Dr. Reetika Dhawan, President of Arizona Western College (AWC) in Yuma, Arizona, to our collaborative community of visionary CEOs.

Reetika is AWC's 10th president — and its first female and first immigrant president. Her journey to the presidency spans more than two decades in education, beginning as a mathematics teacher in India in 2001. She moved to the United States in 2007, joined AWC in 2008 as an adjunct instructor in mathematics and physics, and has been a dedicated member of the AWC family ever since.

Over 18 years at the institution, her entrepreneurial vision led to the creation of the Entrepreneurial College, an initiative that has brought national and international recognition to Yuma and La Paz Counties while creating tangible pathways for student success and economic mobility.

AWC joined AFIT in 2019 under the leadership of Daniel Corr. Reetika served as AWC’s AFIT Rep for several years, before passing the torch to Cinthia Reyes MSN, RN

Reetika has been a regular participant at AFIT events, where the Arizona Western team's spirit and energy are always an inspiration to the community. We are thrilled that AWC’s engagement with AFIT will now continue under Reetika’s leadership.

We look forward to the vision and passion Reetika brings to AFIT as Arizona Western College continues its legacy of transforming lives through education.
