AFIT welcomes Dr. Shaun McAlmont, CEO of the Collaborative for Higher Education Shared Services (CHE

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Shaun McAlmont, a nationally recognized leader in education and workforce training, to our collaborative community of innovators. 

After a nationwide search, Shaun assumed the role of CEO on July 1, 2025, succeeding AFIT member Kathy Ulibarri. We are delighted that CHESS’s involvement in AFIT will continue under Shaun’s visionary leadership. 

Shaun brings over 25 years of transformative executive leadership experience to CHESS, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that supports independently governed member colleges by sharing tools, talent, and best practices to provide a world-class student experience leading to success for all students. 

As former CEO of Lincoln Educational Services, he successfully led a network of 35 colleges and technical institutes through operational realignment and regulatory change. At Stride Education, he transformed the Career Learning division into a market leader in career readiness education, and as President & CEO of NINJIO, he scaled cybersecurity training services to reach 2 million users across 2,000 organizations.
